Super-Plus Beauty Academy is five years old. To God be the glory, great things he has done and greater things will he do for us. The Academy has been growing steadily and it is our hope that it will become a beacon in the training and development of professionals in the beauty industry. The following programs are offered by the Academy: 1. Cosmetology 2. Hairdressing 3. Beauty Therapy 4. Nail Technology 5. Make-up Artistry 6. Bridal Dressing Super-Plus started with ten (10) students in January 2005 and by the end of 2008, over 600 students has gone through our programs and has graduated from the Academy. This year the Academy received a total of 250 applications for admission, some of which were from Nigeria, Liberia, Togo and Sierra Leone amongst others. As part of our efforts to produce skilled professionals in the industry, the Academy is continuously introducing new programs as well as modifying existing ones. This is in recognition of the fact that the dynamic beauty industry has become lucrative but lacks requisite professionals to operate and manage it effectively. The Academy is a City & Guilds International Accredited Centre. Our curriculum is based on City & Guilds Syllabus and they have responsibility for the quality assurance of our programs. Representatives from City & Guilds visit us regularly to monitor the good work being done and also make recommendations for continuous improvement. In March 2009, Juan Visser, Hub Manager – Africa visited with us. He commended us for the good progress we have made so far. Super-Plus Beauty Academy is currently establishing a Student Financial Aid to assist needy students and operate scholarship and prize schemes for bright students. To preserve our integrity and protect our image, the highest level of discipline is expected from students. Therefore students who fall foul with the rules and regulations of the Academy are sanctioned. Excellence never happens by accident. We have to make it happen and our methods matter every bit as much as our results. As such the Board of Directors of the Academy wishes to expresses its sincere gratitude to the competent and dedicated teaching and support staffs that make things happen at the Academy. The Academy will also want to express its appreciation to City Guilds International, Slid Industries – producers of MVP products, PZ Cussons, External Verifiers and the School Chaplain Rev. Samuel Agbozo for their tremendous support to the Academy. Super-Plus will continue to grow in training professionals for the beauty care industry.
